Canceling my Xbox Live account

canceling my Xbox Live account

7:40pm I make the call and go through the automated system ( I hate these things)
7:42pm Currently on hold to cancel my Xbox live trial.
7:46pm The support tech answers
7:48pm asks why I want to cancel doesn't get pushy but makes the required alternative suggestions
7:52pm account canceled

Wow that was painless and I still get to play until the end of the trial
Unfortunately my gamer tag will never be accessible again according to the tech knew I should have used one I didn't care about.

So I guess I'll be playing again tonight if any want to play some Halo2 let me know. Guess I'll be on until midnight or the account goes dark.

So I had a bad day yesterday

So I had a bad day yesterday

Ok so I went to Guitar Center today that was a mistake.

The people there were nice helpful and didn't talk down to me [Damn it they buttered me up] I went to the keyboard section because I need to replace my ancient MIDI keyboard it's so old I have to have a game port to use it. The power supply and I have issues the A/C adapter doesn’t fit correctly in to the now deformed female receptacle grrr.

I use Fruity Loops to "fart around" making music some people like it some don't mostly every one says it sounds like video game music which Eh not usually what I was going for but the samples I use are the standard and I am not fully instructed on how to use the program. I play with it learn things as I go by trying stuff out.

My mother decided to check out the keyboard "pianos". She found one she likes in good working order, and on mark down to a more than generous price. So we decide we are going to blow a little money on ourselves and buy the keyboards and some books. I’ve spent the last few minutes going over the stuff I want to do in terms of audio creation with the Guy behind the counter and we have found a reasonably price USB keyboard for me not decked out but all I want is a keyboard again so I am happy a book on fruity loops and a condenser mic so I can start to record some vocal stuff I’ve been wanting to do. Mom’s "piano" and a book on chords so she can re learn what she has forgotten total about $400 between us. Mom is going to put it on her credit card because the available balance is there cool all set.

While she goes off to find her card the guy and I start talking shop on computer setup and some of the problems I have running Fruity Loops stuff like hanging when too many samples and FX are running simultaneously. He asks me if I've looked into getting a Mac and I say I've thought about it but I really just don't like them. He asks why I state my reasons I don't like OS X I'm mentally old and set in my Windows based PC ways like right clicking mice. Second I hate most Mac owners elitist snobby types (yes I know not all of them are but out of my friends the ones that use Macs are elitist and we don't get along well) Third I hate those goddamned commercials they are so full of shit for the most part [Side note I hate those commercials so much when I found out Justin Long was in the new Die Hard movie I came really close to writing it off as garbage]

back to the story and my biggest thing against Macs is what the guy and every fucking Mac owner always fucking says "but it just works!' he said this and I came really really close to just walking out without buying anything. I liked the guy though so I let it go. Any way I look him right in the eye and say name one thing that works on a Mac that doesn’t work on a Windows based PC. His response was everything. I FUCKING HATE MAC PEOPLE! I size him up big smile and all and say if you can't give me a real basis of argument as to how a Mac works better it makes me want a Dell more than ever. He said well you know all those companies out there doing Multimedia, Music and Visual Art FX they use Macs. This is where I got him good because of the DreamWorks thread I say oh really well did you know… he looked shocked and amazed. Then I pulled out the big ticket Item. Games he comes back with Mac pool he spend hours playing nine ball. This is a selling point? Anyway we get down to brass tacks talking about how the most creation apps run better on a Mac and I have no real basis to argue this. However I am fairly sure that equivalent systems running the same program are probably really close in a comparison. Maybe the biggest thing for me though is I can fix my machine when it messes up or something happens with a Mac you send it in to them to fix it I don’t like that. They are also bloody well expensive for no real value in my opinion.

Personally if I did ever buy a Mac I would run Windows on it and ignore OSX except maybe to screw around with Garage Band.

Any ways after the Mac discussion was up I turned to see that my mother was back with her credit card. We go to check out then the worst part of my day happens. Her card was declined it turns out that her credit card had expired just recently and was refuted for renewal. Needless to say we are both massively upset about this considering that aside from our mortgage on the house her credit card is the most expensive bill we have out here. Many a time we have had to eat ramen to be able make the payments, and keep this line of credit open. Being that the card was almost at its limit and we have over the last few months started to get it paid down granted it’s kind of silly to put more on it after working hard to get it paid down. Now the card is void, and the available credit gone. It’s like we’ve been wasting our time not just letting it go in to default which sounds bad, but the circumstances here are not always conducive to making that payment.

So now that the card is useless we couldn’t treat ourselves to some items we had been looking forward to getting. I am a little depressed, but that’s life don’t know exactly what will happen with the card right now. I’m hoping we can get it straightened out during the week.
